Record the payment that actually arrived

This $77 total is the amount received, not an amount still owed. If the customer had paid a deposit earlier, the receipt would show only the payment being recorded now.

Name the payment method

Card, cash, or bank transfer helps match the receipt to a till or bank record. Do not include a full card number.

Connect it to the invoice

A note such as “Payment for invoice INV-2026-018” keeps the two documents related. After an invoice is paid, Turn into receipt copies the line items and adds that note for you.
