ORGANIZE A JOB

How to make a work order

Capture the job, location, schedule, and expected cost in one document.

A work order helps a business and customer stay aligned on what needs to be done. It is useful for maintenance, repair, installation, and other jobs that need a clear scope.

Make it in CreateBizDocs

  1. Choose Work Order. Enter a work order number, created date, and scheduled date.
  2. Add your business and customer details. Use Work location for the address or place where the job will happen.
  3. Describe the Scope of work in practical terms: the task, important materials, and any limits or assumptions.
  4. Use line items for expected labor and materials, then review the estimated total. Add work terms or notes if needed.
  5. Download the PDF for the team or customer and save a draft if the schedule or scope may change.

Example

An HVAC company could specify the address, scheduled visit, inspection tasks, and an estimated labor charge before dispatching a technician.

Check it before sharing

Verify the location and date first, then confirm the scope and estimated charges. Make sure the customer can tell what work is included.

This document records planned work; it does not automatically track job completion or serve as a signed approval.
